The French demonstrated against the president Sarkozy in Toulon and we joined the crowd making a video film.

There were demonstrations today in France against Sarkozy and his government. We took part in one of them.

Visiting Pamukkale Thermal Water Springs In Turkey

We have visited sulphurous thermal water (STW) bath pools in Tbilisi, Georgia and Andorra . We noticed positive effects on arthritis and eczema ( atopic dermatitis ) and were looking for similar baths in Turkey. However, not all thermal water hot springs are the same. Pamukkale waters are not sulphurous, although warm (39°C/102°F) outdoor pools felt nice when the temperature was close to freezing. Pamukkale thermal waters are muddy, radioactive and mineral rich but lack the special effects of sulphurous water.

Finn-Savotta Challenge: The Conclusion

We have been travelling more than five years with our new Finn-Savotta backpacks, Savotta LJK12 and Savotta 906, in dozens of countries all over the world . The backpacks are still in one piece and in usable condition. There are some scratches and bumps in the aluminium structure and the fabric has worn out a bit here and there but nothing major. On the other hand, there were some minor usability challenges.

The Revolution of Thailand

Recent lack of freedom in Thailand have been business as usual in Singapore for years. Both countries are dictatorships. [Suomeksi] We visited Singapore for a few days trying to sort out Thailand visa mess. The 30-day permission to stay had to be changed to a visa that could then—possibly—be somehow extended. Not too complicated, fortunately. And the obvious motivation behind this seems to be ripping off tourists.
